A Day at Sailor's Haven for Sayville Residents

Residents from The Bristal at Sayville set out on a summer adventure aboard the Sayville Ferry, bound for Sailor's Haven on Fire Island.

Spirits were high as the ferry cut across the the waves and Lifestyle Director Kristen even helped steer!

Once ashore, residents explored Sailor's Haven, home to the rare Sunken Forest. This 300-year old maritime holly woodland has a winding 1.5-mile boardwalk and visitor's shop to explore. No summer outing would be complete without a sweet treat to end the day, so residents capped off their trip with ice cream while savoring the simple joys of the day.

Fire Island has welcomed visitors since the Sayville Ferry first opened in 1894. With its wide beaches and natural forests, it remains a beloved destination for Long Islanders, including our residents from Sayville.
