Celebrating Grandparents Across The Bristal Communities

Grandparents Day is a cherished tradition at The Bristal communities, honoring the wisdom, love, and stories that generations share. Across our communities, residents, families, friends, and team members come together to celebrate these meaningful connections each in a unique and memorable way.

At The Bristal at Armonk, the theme Roots and Reflections took participants on an intergenerational journey from the 1950s to the future. Residents, their grandchildren, and other family members explored immersive decade-themed stations and family photo exhibits, crafted handprint keepsakes, enjoyed live jazz performances, and posed for pictures from a professional photographer.

The Bristal at East Northport brought Broadway to life with a themed museum-style exhibit, interactive Foley sound effects station, and a live performance by a rising local actor. Lifestyle Director TJ said, "It was a day where stories, music, creativity, and multigenerational joy truly took centerstage - even my Grandma got to attend!"

At The Bristal at Englewood, a trip back to the 1960s featured a mini museum exhibit, 60s-inspired cuisine, and a guest lecture on Woodstock, sparking nostalgia and bridging past and present for the generations present.

At The Bristal at Jericho, a Long Island heritage-themed day featured lectures from local historians, a creative beach terrarium activity, and a delicious locally-themed luncheon.

The Bristal at Mount Sinai honored the Golden Age of Hollywood with an immersive day celebrating the evolution of cinema from the 1920s to the 1960s, which included live entertainment, an interactive fashion exhibit, an artistic program for designing personalized Hollywood Stars for the Mount Sinai Walk of Fame, keepsake photos from the photo booth, and Gatsby-themed cocktails.

The Bristal at Wayne had residents and their families boogieing through the 1970s at a Silent Disco, enjoying immersive exhibits in the Time Travelers Lounge and themed refreshments to match, while The Bristal at West Babylon hosted a live pizza-making station and engaging games for family and friends to enjoy.

Each community of The Bristal honors Grandparents Day in its own unique way, and it is this individuality, the chance to celebrate, make memories, and create lasting connections, that makes The Bristal such a special place for residents and their families.
