Commemorating Holocaust Remembrance Day in White Plains

On January 27th, 2025 The Bristal Assisted Living at White Plains hosted a special program in honor of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.

The ceremony began with Cantor Mark Hirsch, the son of a Holocaust survivor, leading the traditional memorial prayer. Residents of The Bristal then participated in lighting memorial candles to honor the memory of the six million Jewish people who lost their lives in the Holocaust.

The event brought together residents of The Bristal, local elected officials, and community leaders. White Plains Mayor, Thomas Roach, Reverend William Walker of The Calvary Baptist Church, and Joshua Hyman, a former Israeli Defense Force Soldier from Westchester, were among those who joined in remembrance.

At The Bristal Assisted Living, we are committed to not only remembering the past, but also fostering a more just and compassionate future for all.
