  • Fun Fact about Mount Sinai: Originally known as 'the Old Mans', then shortly as Mount Vernon, Mount Sinai was so named in 1841 by the first postmaster, Charles Phillips. Local legend has it that Phillips chose the name by randomly pointing at the Holy Bible with a knitting needle and selecting the first location name he saw on that page.
