Residents of The Bristal at Mount Sinai participated in a traditional Easter activity -- Pysanky Easter Egg Decorating. Derived from the Ukrainian verb pysaty, which means “to write,” the word refers to the writing on the eggs. Ukrainian Easter eggs often feature complex geometric and floral designs. Residents wrote on eggs with bee’s wax, color-dipped and heated the eggs over tea candles to soften/remove the wax designs to reveal beautifully decorated eggs.
