Residents of The Bristal at East Northport put their hands (and knitting skills) to good use in support of local veterans. The residents, who are members of Bristal Helping Hands, crocheted red, white and blue blankets in honor of Veteran's Day. The blankets were delivered to the Long Island State Veterans Home in Stony Brook. Fran Turtel, a resident of The Bristal at East Northport, and a member of Bristal Helping Hands, has a special connection to the organization. Her partner of over 15 years, Army veteran Joel Braverman resides there, and she was able to deliver a lap blanket she made for him.
