Honoring Our Veterans at The Bristal Communities

Across The Bristal communities, we are deeply proud to honor and support the veterans who call our communities home. Their service, courage, and commitment continue to inspire us every day.

Each of our communities recognizes Veterans Day in its own meaningful way -- from intimate ceremonies to music-filled gatherings and intergenerational tributes. Below, we're sharing just a few of the many unique, heartfelt celebrations that took place this year, each reflecting our shared gratitude for the heroes among us and the personalized ways our communities honor them.

At The Bristal at Armonk, residents came together for a meaningful ceremony featuring a display of veterans' photos, individual name recognitions, and the presentation of a ceremonial pen and flag. A live performance added a joyful, heartfelt backdrop to the celebration.

At The Bristal at White Plains, families, friends, and special guests, including incoming Councilman Nick Wolf and former Yonkers Council President Chuck Lesnick, joined residents in a moving tribute. Bryant Shapiro, Director of Reflections, performed The Star-Spangled Banner. Resident and veteran Irving shared his remarkable story, while Patrick Mauro honored his father's legacy of service. A thoughtful gift of cookies from the local Girl Scout Troop made the day even sweeter.

In Massapequa, the community gathered for a warm and heartfelt tribute. Lifestyle Director Shannon said, "We proudly honor our Veterans with gratitude for your courage, dedication, and unwavering service to our nation."

In Jericho, more than 40 residents and guests enjoyed poetry, a performance from the Jericho A Capella group, and performances from the local Girl Scout Troop. Each veteran was presented with a red carnation in recognition of their service.

At The Bristal at Bethpage, Girl Scout Troop 3398 joined residents to recite the Pledge of Allegiance, and led a moving rendition of the National Anthem before everyone created patriotic wreaths to display proudly on their apartment doors.

At The Bristal at Englewood, a special Veterans Day lunch was served in appreciation of the inspiring men and women who served in the armed forces.

Not every Veterans Day tribute happens on Veterans Day. Earlier this fall, veterans from The Bristal at East Northport traveled to the Museum of American Armor, exploring more than fifty operational armored vehicles, honoring the value of their fellow servicemembers.

Across all of The Bristal communities, Veterans Day is always a day of reflection, gratitude, and heartfelt appreciation for the heroes who call The Bristal home.
