Members from The Bristal Helping Hands were invited to a special luncheon where they were recognized for their volunteer efforts. Delicious food – prepared by our talented chefs, as well as singing and dancing made for fun and fulfilling afternoon.
The Bristal is fortunate to have a group of talented, giving residents who knit, bake, craft, and shop for local charities on a monthly basis. The Bristal Helping Hands draws its membership from The Bristal communities located throughout New York and New Jersey. 2019 was a very busy year for the group with a wide variety of community-based projects completed. Members put their sewing and knitting needles together to make caps for newborns and chemotherapy patients, as well as quilted pillows and blankets for hospitals and animal shelters. During the Easter and Christmas holidays, members shopped for gifts and practical items for those in need. Other members made and sold handcrafted items with the proceeds (totaling $1,400!) donated the Alzheimer’s Disease Resource Center.
We are excited for 2020 and looking forward to seeing The Bristal Helping Hands in action!
