Patch: Residents of The Bristal at Lake Grove share their personal holiday tradition with their fellow residents at The Bristal

88 year old Stephen Zicaro and his 86 year old wife Jenny, residents of The Bristal Assisted Living at Lake Grove have been collecting Dickens Village displays for more than sixty years. Mr. Zicaro says he has collected almost 80 pieces that comprise the villages which were the focal point of the family’s Christmas displays at their homes in West Islip and Hauppauge, and are now proudly displayed in the lobby of The Bristal at Lake Grove for their fellow residents to enjoy during the holiday season. Mr. Zicaro says when he would build the villages at home, the set up was very intricate and would take him more than a week to assemble. In addition to sharing the villages with their fellow residents of The Bristal, the Zicaros say they are very pleased that their great-grandsons eight year old Jionni and seven year old Niko have taken possession of parts of the collection and are incorporating it into their family’s Christmas tradition.
