The Bristal communities across Long Island and Westchester proudly joined thousands of participants in the Walk to End Alzheimer's®, part of the nationwide movement organized by the Alzheimer's Association.
Held annually in more than 600 communities, the Walk is the world's largest fundraiser for Alzheimer's care, support, and research. It brings together people of all ages and abilities to honor loved ones, raise awareness, and take meaningful steps toward a cure.
The mission is deeply personal for The Bristal, here each community features a Reflections memory care neighborhood, a private and secure setting designed to support individuals living with Alzheimer's disease and related forms of dementia. The Alzheimer's Association's work profoundly impacts residents, families, caregivers, and team members every day, making our involvement truly heartfelt.
Funds raised through the event help the Alzheimer's Association provide vital resources, from its 24/7 Helpline, to education, research, and advocacy efforts. Every step, and every dollar, makes a difference. Learn more and consider donating to this worthy cause.
A highlight of the Walk is the Promise Garden, a moving display of colorful floral pinwheels that symbolize each participant's personal connection to the cause.
- Blue represents those living with Alzheimer's.
- Purple honors those who have lost someone to the disease.
- Yellow signifies caregivers and supporters.
- Orange reflects all who share the vision of a world without Alzheimer's.
During the Walk, participants proudly carry their flowers, creating a sea of color and a shared camaraderie. The Promise Garden is more than a symbol; it's a moment of shared purpose and connection, reminding everyone that no one walks this journey alone.
