A Taste of Italy at The Bristal at Westbury

Residents at The Bristal at Westbury recently enjoyed an afternoon filled with the sights, sounds, and flavors of Italy.

As part of a special cultural immersion event, the community was transformed with visual galleries featuring Italian landscapes, famous landmarks, and vintage photography. Educational notes alongside each display offered fun facts and historical context, inviting guests to take a leisurely stroll through Italy's rich past and scenery.

Hands-on stations added to the experience, with residents creating custom spice sachets and handmade bracelets, while festive Italian music played in the background. Attendees also picked up postcards from Italy as a keepsake by which to remember the day.

One highlight from the day was a video lecture streamed direct from the Italian capital city. Andrew Kranis, video calling from Rome, guided everyone on a virtual tour of the Roman Colosseum, sharing fascinating insights about its architecture, history, and cultural significance.

To complete the experience, residents gathered on both patios to enjoy live Italian accordion music, a bruschetta station, caprese skewers, and refreshing sparkling Italian drinks. From Aperol spritz to lemon sparklers, it was a festive and flavorful celebration of Italian culture -- bringing people together in a warm, welcoming atmosphere celebrating la dolce vita, the sweet life.
