The Bristal at Bethpage recently spread its wings with an immersive Wings of the World program, celebrating the beauty and wonder of birds across the globe.
Residents began the day by crafting bird feeders from simple household items. It was a thoughtful way to support our local feathered friends, while recycling to benefit the environment at large.
The Long Island Parrot Society presented a fascinating array of colorful companions, transfixing the attentions of residents and team members alike. A dazzling, extraverted macaw stole the show, while a snowy-white cockatoo charmed everyone with a more gentle personality, perching with residents who wished to get a closer look.
The immersive journey continued at the Birds of a Feather social hour, where handcrafted Hummingbird cocktails and mocktails added a refreshing touch, with many thanks to our dining team. Residents explored a museum exhibit showcasing birds from the Asian wetlands, African savannah, European woodlands, South American rainforests, and their very own Long Island backyard.
Residents created beautiful, vibrant bird mosaics to complete the day, crafting artistic keepsakes to remember the day by. It was a truly uplifting experience to spend a day with beautiful, feathered friends.
