The Brooklyn Botanic Garden visited the residents of The Bristal at East Northport during National Assisted Living Week, taking our residents on a “tour” of the grounds. They brought with them a variety of plants for an on-site sensory garden experience. Residents also made their own herb tea bags using lavender and mint grown in the Brooklyn garden. It was the first time the Botanic Garden has done an on-site visit at an assisted living community and it was a huge success – touching both the staff and the residents in an impactful way.
